July 10th we left the dock at Kingfisher Lodge in Craig in calm waters headed for Noyes Island in search of our limits of King salmon. Our first stop was the Chicken hole which produced nothing in the half hour of fishing. We continued on off the west coast of Noyes Island where the previous day the fishing had been very good from the reports. It started out pretty slow for us and most other boats as I got antsy we headed north to Roller bay and immediatly caught 3 coho’s and a king salmon. We continued making drifts landing halibut, black sea bass, silver salmon and another king salmon. Reports were that catching had gotten pretty good where we had been so we ended up back north of Shaft rock and started landing silvers and king salmon which the end result was 7 king salmon landed, 14 silver salmon landed and 4 or 5 silvers lost. Most boats limited on King salmon and had a mixed count of silver salmon. The ocean was very calm with very light winds and sunny skies. Great day.
